The Wayne Radio Amateur Emergency Team (WRAET) of Wayne, NJ is an amateur radio club affiliate of the American Radio Relay League, ARRL, and is dedicated to supporting Wayne Township OEM and Wayne Township

Our Mission

Our main purpose is to support the Wayne Township Office of Emergency Management (Wayne OEM). This support shall include, but not be limited to the following:

  1. Share our club callsign with the Township of Wayne for use on the amateur radio repeaters owned and maintained by the Township of Wayne, provide technical assistance, organize various regular nets, promote general amateur use of the repeaters, assist in developing repeater rules, and enforcing those rules, and assist in coordination of the repeaters.
  2. Assist the Wayne OEM Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES)
  3. Support the ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) for additional training
  4. Provide assistance with communications to the Wayne Township Office of Emergency Management during emergencies and scheduled events
  5. Provide other assistance,as may be required, by the Wayne Office of Emergency Management and other offices of the Township of Wayne
  6. Assist the Wayne OEM in joining the network of Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS)
  7. Further the exchange of information and cooperation between members, promote radio knowledge, fraternalism and individual operating efficiency, and conduct club programs and activities to advance the general interest and welfare of Amateur Radio in the community
